The premise . . .

The premise of my little corner of the internet here is simple:
You ask me a question.
Any question. About anything

And I'll tell you the answer.

Now, I know what you're wondering.
And the answer is, no, I'm not omnicient.

But I am really, really good at finding answers to things, primarily through the internet.
It would be my bar trick, but for two things:

1. Most bars don't have high-speed internet
2. I don't hang around in bars

But I'll tell you, I have yet to be really stymied while researching something obscure for someone I know.

So, that being said, lay it on me. Use the "comment" thread to propose a search for me. I'd prefer if you ask for something you've really always wanted to find the answer to, but if you want to send me off on a wild goose chase, I'll play along.

It may take some time for me to get back to you, but when I've found it, I'll post the answer and a link or links to various resources if you want to verify my findings or just explore more on your own.

Caveats:

I'm not going to touch anything obscene, pornographic, racist, sexist, or other-ist, unless it is in itself something interesting.

For example, there has been a long-running internet rumor about the term "Ship High in Transit" being made into an acronym to become one of our more popular four-letter words. I think that has been accurately and completely debunked, but that is a kind of case in which I can have a little flexibility.
